Marloes was born in the far north of the Netherlands, and at a young age already had a great love for travel and nature. One of her favourite animals at a young age was the rhinoceros. Marloes travelled the world at a young age with her parents, including to visit family who lives in Australia. This brought her into contact with all kinds of cultures, nature and animal species.
After setting foot on African soil for the first time, Marloes was immediately captivated by this country, and her love for rhinos continued to blossom.
Her trips to Africa were extended, due to her love for rhinos, she had an enormous drive to make a difference. Marloes started volunteering in various projects, both directly with rhinos, and the community through educating children. Her urge for more grew. This is how her idea arose to start working for a foundation. Marloes joined Helping Rhinos, where she has created a Dutch branch under the same name, which is currently in the constructive phase.
