Established in 2002, The Intrepid Foundation is the not-for-profit arm of Intrepid Travel, created to empower travelers to give back to the communities they visit. Over the past two decades, the Foundation has raised over AUD $12 million, supporting 136 community projects worldwide. Its mission is to create positive impact through the joy of travel, community, and connection, aligning closely with Intrepid Travel’s commitment to responsible tourism.
The Foundation’s approach integrates philanthropy into the travel experience by aligning travel products with NGO partners, ensuring that every traveler learns about local issues and has the opportunity to contribute to local solutions. Tour leaders are empowered to discuss the Foundation’s work during trips, and opportunities are provided for customers to donate before and after their journeys. This model enhances the customer experience, fosters a sense of connection and purpose, and strengthens brand loyalty and differentiation.
