Directed by Cindy Lee and nominated for an OSCARTM in the Live Action Short Category, The Last Ranger was inspired by true events, and delves into the complexities of rhino conservation, emphasising the critical role of local communities in protecting endangered species. Through its compelling storytelling, The Last Ranger sheds light on the challenges faced by rangers and the importance of community involvement in wildlife conservation.
The release of The Last Ranger comes at a critical time, as rhino poaching has surged in recent months, posing an even greater threat to these already vulnerable animals. This powerful short film serves as a vital tool in raising global awareness about the escalating crisis and the urgent need for action.
Beyond raising awareness, the film plays an essential role in rallying support for conservation efforts on the ground. Anti-poaching teams risk their lives daily to safeguard rhinos, but they need ongoing resources, training, and equipment to stay ahead of increasingly sophisticated poaching networks.
By attending our exclusive screening audiences can help amplify the message that protecting rhinos is not just a local battle—it is a global responsibility.
