Gala Dinner 2026
Join us for an intimate and unforgettable evening of storytelling and connection, in aid of impactful initiatives that are protecting rhinos in their natural habitats and supporting the people who live alongside them.
Introduced by Helping Rhinos Patron Peter Egan, and hosted by celebrated Auctioneer Jonty Hearnden, guests will enjoy a black-tie drinks reception, followed by an exquisite three course dinner, exclusive fundraising auction, and live entertainment. All while you hear first-hand from leaders on the frontlines of conservation as they recount exclusive stories, relate insights from the field, and share what it really takes to protect earth’s last wild spaces.

Our Speakers
Karen Odendaal
Chief Operating Officer at the Zululand Conservation Trust
Karen is a longstanding project lead of Helping Rhinos. She was instrumental in establishing the Zululand Rhino Orphanage in 2017 and is leading efforts to establish a Rhino Stronghold in KwaZulu-Natal. From spearheading conservation and community engagement projects, to contributing to scientific research of black rhino, Karen is truly hands-on when it comes to conservation.
Nomawethu Ngangqu
Community Manager, Kariega Foundation
Nomawethu is at the forefront of efforts, implementing genuinely integrated conservation. Whether that’s through youth upliftment, engaging with local government or convening with community members. Noma’s work ensures conservation is collaborative, and that the communities she serves see real benefit from their involvement, and ownership over their natural heritage.
Your support for this year’s gala dinner will directly support our work to Protect rhinos, Preserve their habitats and Provide for people. Funds raised will enable us to reconnect landscapes separated by human use, re-establishing ancient corridors and giving wildlife the space they need to thrive. They will also contribute to growing education and leadership opportunities for people living alongside wild spaces, ensuring they gain real benefit from their natural heritage. As well as providing for the men and women who risk their lives everyday protecting wildlife. Combined, these efforts mean we can protect vulnerable rhino populations across Africa.
